Happy Canada Day weekend

Happy Canada day weekend! For most Canadians - it is a long weekend in the sun, either spent on a patio or at a cottage. H and I are working on Monday, but hey, Vancouver is actually sunny today, so we are darn happy! We might even venture out tomorrow night to watch the fireworks by the Burrard Inlet, a little like the UK's Bonfire Night, minus the drunken birthday girl! :) So, it's been a while, so here be the bullets that I excuse myself with on a bi-monthly basis:
  • The Lab is gaining momentum now, and I am really proud of the show. We have a ton of prep before July's production cycle (10th-13th), so we'll be taping some cold opens on Monday, as well as some b-roll for a segment. H and I are also doing a couple of mini videoblogs each week, which can be found at my other (work-related) blog. It's cool to be able to just talk about the job, rather than finding the words to write about it! June's production cycle was great fun (I even danced on camera with TikiBar...yes, I did say dance!!), and July's is looking at being the same (maybe less dancing, but I am doing 2 segments as well as a mini-segment per show).
  • I am getting old and I hate it. I tore a muscle in my upper-chest last week and ended up on presciption painkillers because of it. I can just about reach my arm over my head now, but I spent 2 days in agony...muchas embarrassed! :)
  • H and I booked flights home to England for September (7th-17th), and I honestly cannot bloody wait. The plan is to stay in Cambridge for the vacation, and catch up with family and friends. I haven't been home since last November, so I am counting down the days until our trip. So much has happened since our last visit, so it will be great to touch-base and just chill out with my lovely family...miss you guys so much.
  • H gave me a new cell phone last week (which is as it implies...he bought it for himself, I complained and nagged enough that it is now mine!) The Krzr is lovely and I thank him muchly! :)
  • We both have super-great eyes now. It's been 2 months since my surgery and 1 month since H's, and we are both damn happy with the results.
Other than that - everything is pretty much ticking over. In a nutshell, we are working bloody hard towards our vacay, and in the meantime, this weekend is going to be a sunny Canada Day, spent in Yaletown. But, as a close, this point has to be raised. It is June 30th, and before today - this is the picture that sums up our life in Vancouver:

This photo was taken on the way home from work, and I forgot my umbrella on this day. The rain on the street behind us should be explanation enough!

Happy Canada Day people on this side of the Atlantic. On the otherside - I can't wait to see you soon.

Glad your eyes are doing well and congrats on the new mobile, although it's a Motorola :( Wish I could watch the show here in Germany :( It was cool to see some of the filming though.
